This Day 25 years back..... India won the Cricket world Cup

Going back in Memory lane , I was 12 years old and watched the amazing match video taped next day as we did not have the TV those days. After 25 years , the memories are still fresh , looks like it happened only a few years back. I still remembers the big banana In swinger bowled by Balwinder Sandhu , the remarkable running catch by Kapil Dev and the gentle run of Mohinder Amarnath. Somehow , I don't remember India batting , but what the heck , we won the world cup. Here is a pictorial tribute to the famous Indian win.

Arvind Gupta has done a incredible contribution to the learning system of Indian kids. He has conceptualised numerous toys / projects / DIYs so that Indian Children can experiment with simple, inexpensive materials and learn science through it. In the process , he has published books , articles to share this vast treasure of DIY TOYS.

His website and books is a must read for every school going child and his parents. Instead of spending tons of money on the branded toys from Mattel / Hasbro et al , let us use these treasures and get the pleasure of making our own toys.
