अन्न, वस्त्र, निवारा आणि इन्फोटेक या आता माणसाच्या नवीन मूलभूत गरजा बनल्या आहेत .आपल्या जीवनातल्या कुठल्याही घडामोडी मध्ये इन्फोटेक चा मोठा वाटा असतो. पण नक्की इन्फोटेक म्हणजे काय ? या चार अक्षरी शब्दांमध्ये किती गोष्टी समाविष्ट आहेत याचा आपण कधी विचार केला आहे का ? हा विचार आपल्यापर्यंत घेऊन येतं ते अच्युत गोडबोल्यांचं *इन्फोटेक* हे पुस्तक .

मराठीतील एक उत्कृष्ट संदर्भ ग्रंथ म्हणून हे पुस्तक नक्कीच खास आहे .अच्युत गोडबोले यांची एखाद्या विषयाबद्दल विस्तृत माहिती करून देण्याची खासियत आणि हा विषय तर त्यांच्या आवडीचा असल्यामुळे , बारीक-सारीक गोष्टींच्या बद्दल अतिशय खोलात जाऊन सोप्या भाषेत दिलेली माहिती हे या पुस्तकाचे वैशिष्ट्य ठरते.

मी या क्षेत्रात असल्यामुळे मराठी भाषेत तंत्रज्ञानाची ओळख करून देणे किती अवघड आहे याची मला कल्पना आहे. मला बऱ्याच वेळा लोक विचारतात आयटी / इन्फोटेक म्हणजे खूप क्लिष्ट आहे. ते आम्हाला काही कळत नाही . पुस्तकाच्या अभिप्रायामध्ये म्हटल्याप्रमाणे नव्या शैक्षणिक धोरणात मातृभाषेतून उच्च व्यावसायिक शिक्षण दिलं जावं अशी सूचना आहे पण अशा वेळेला महत्त्वाच्या क्षेत्रामध्ये मातृभाषेतील पुस्तकेच उपलब्ध नसतात. ही उणीव इन्फोटेक क्षेत्राकरिता हे पुस्तक नक्कीच पूर्ण करते .

कम्प्युटर, इंटरनेट ,मोबाईल आता आपल्या परिचयाचे शब्द झाले आहेत .पण यानंतर येणारे 5G, क्लाऊड कॉम्प्युटिंग ,बिग डेटा ,ऑगमेन्टेड रियालिटी, ब्लॉक चेन या इन्फोटेक मधील नवीन नवीन संकल्पनांची माहिती , किमान तोंडओळख होणे आपल्याला आवश्यक आहे.

इन्फोटेक या पुस्तकाची रचना एका संदर्भ ग्रंथा सारखी आहे. इंग्रजी भाषेमध्ये टेक्नॉलॉजी फॉर डमीज (Dummies) या प्रकारची बरीच पुस्तके उपलब्ध आहेत. एखादी गोष्ट अतिशय सोप्या पद्धतीने सांगण्याकरता डमीज प्रकारच्या पुस्तकांचा वापर होतो. थोडे फार या धाटणीचे हे पुस्तक असले तरी मराठी वाचकाला सहज समजेल अशा भाषेत इन्फोटेक या विषयातील संकल्पनांची माहिती करून देते.

पुस्तकात नऊ भाग आहेत. या भागात डेटा, जीपीएस आणि गुगल मॅप्स ,सेंसर आणि आयओटी (IoT), नवीन युगातील वापरली जाणारी काही ठळक तंत्र कल्पना जसे ब्लॉकचेन, बिटकॉइन ,क्लाऊड कॉम्प्युटिंग आणि AR/VR, नेटवर्किंग आणि इंटरनेट ,मोबाईल फोन ,आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजन्स आणि भविष्यातील तंत्रज्ञान यांच्या बद्दल लिहिले आहे .शेवटच्या दोन भागात संगणकीय शास्त्रातील मूलभूत संकल्पना अतिशय सोप्या करून  सांगितल्या आहेत.

प्रत्येक भाग हा आपापल्या परीने स्वयंपूर्ण असून आधीच्या भागाची माहिती असणे आवश्यक नाही. या पुस्तकाची रचना एकच मोठा संदर्भ ग्रंथ म्हणून करण्याऐवजी जर सात ते आठ छोट्या पुस्तिकामध्ये करता आली असती तर त्याचा परिणाम वाचकांवरती जास्त छान झाला असता. तसेच याचा वापर विविध क्षेत्रातील विद्यार्थी आणि वाचक अजून छान करू शकले असते .पुढील आवृत्तीमध्ये हा प्रयोग करून बघण्यास हरकत नाही.

या पुस्तकातील काही भागांची थोडक्यात ओळख करून घेऊया 

*डेटा किंवा माहिती* - एखाद्या गोष्टीची इत्यंभूत माहिती असणे अतिशय गरजेचे असते त्याचप्रमाणे ही माहिती कशी वापरली जाते , त्यावरून त्या माहितीचे महत्व जास्त ठळक होतं .इन्फोटेक मध्ये माहिती किंवा डेटा एका विशिष्ट पद्धतीने स्टोर किंवा संकलित केली जाते. या पद्धतींचा थोडक्यात विश्लेषण पहिल्या भागात आपल्याला बघायला मिळते ,आपण वापरत असलेल्या माहिती साठवणीच्या काही गोष्टी जसे फ्लॉपी ड्राईव्ह ,हार्ड ड्राईव्ह, मेमरी स्टिक यामध्ये हा डेटा कसा स्टोर किंवा संग्रहित केला जातो याबद्दल या भागात माहिती दिली आहे . आधुनिक संगणक मोठ्या प्रमाणामध्ये डेटाचा वापर करू लागले आहेत ,हा वापर अजून सुगम होण्याकरता डेटा इनक्रीप्शन आणि कॉम्प्रेशन किंवा सांकेतिक भाषेत डेटा साठवणी ,डेटा मॅनेजमेंट आणि मोठ्या प्रमाणात संकलित होणाऱ्या डेटाचा अजून चांगला वापर- बिग डेटा अनालिसिस या संकल्पना या पहिल्या भागात आपल्याला वाचायला मिळतात. बिट्स आणि बाईट्स यांनी सुरुवात झालेले डेटा स्टोरेज आता आपण सहजपणे गिगाबाइट मध्ये मोजू लागले आहोत. ( साधारणपणे दोन तासाची चांगल्या क्वालिटीची मूवी ही स्टोर करायची असेल तर त्याकरता सहा जीबी स्टोरेज कॅपॅसिटी लागते) . आणखी काही वर्षांमध्ये डेटा स्टोरेज कॅपॅसिटी पेटा बाईट ,हेक्सा बाईट, झिटा बाईट आणि योटा बाईट इथपर्यंत जाऊन पोहोचणार आहे . यावरून आपल्याला अंदाज येतो की डेटा स्टोरेज , डेटा मॅनेजमेंट याची प्रगती कुठल्या स्तरावरती जाणार आहे.

“डेटा इज द न्यू ऑइल” हा एक कन्सेप्ट सध्या खूप प्रचलित आहे. जसे आखाती देशांसाठी कच्चे तेल हे एक विकासाची पायरी होती तसेच आपल्या नागरिकांच्या बद्दल उपलब्ध असलेला डेटा हा भविष्यामध्ये एक गुरुकिल्ली ठरणार आहे. असं  म्हणतात कि एक व्यक्ती म्हणून तुम्ही काय आहात , तुमच्या आवडी निवडी काय आहेत , तुम्ही कुठे जाता , हे तुमच्या घरच्या  लोकांपेक्षा गूगल ला जास्त माहित असते.  याचं कारण म्हणजे प्रचंड प्रमाणात आपण तयार केलेला डिजिटल डेटा-स्कॅन केलेले डॉक्युमेंट्स ,काढलेले फोटो, सेल्फी ,सोशल नेटवर्किंग मध्ये टाकलेले पोस्ट ,फोन रेकॉर्ड ,सर्च इंजिन च्या queries , बँकेतील व्यवहार या सगळया गोष्टी डेटा स्वरूपात कोठे न कोठे स्टोअर केलेल्या असतात.

अफाट प्रमाणात एकत्र होणाऱ्या डेटा चा वापर कसा होऊ शकतो हे जाणून घेणे खूपच उत्कंठावर्धक आहे. भारतामध्ये *“आधार”* द्वारे उपलब्ध झालेल्या अनेक सेवा योजना हा या बिग डेटाचा वापर करू लागल्या आहेत. . इन्कम टॅक्स विभागामध्ये प्रत्येक कर भरणाऱ्या माणसाचा डेटा आता उपलब्ध होऊ लागला आहे .ए आय एस ( AIS) या फॉर्ममुळे प्रत्येकाच्या बँक व्यवहाराच्या बद्दलचे डिटेल्स इन्कम टॅक्स विभागाकडे उपलब्ध आहेत .अनेक कोटी नागरिकांचा हा डेटा सांभाळणे आणि त्यातून योग्य तो निष्कर्ष काढणे हे एक बिग डेटा चे उदाहरण आहे.

*उपग्रह आणि उपग्रहाद्वारे स्थान सूचना प्रणाली (GPS) *-  गुगल मॅप्स हा प्रोग्रॅम ( अँप) हे आपल्या आयुष्याचा आता एक भाग झाला आहे. अमुक पत्ता कुठे आहे हे विचारायची पद्धत आता मागे पडत चालली आहे . गुगल मॅप ची बाई किंवा बुवा आपल्याला डावीकडे उजवीकडे करत बरोबर आपल्या गंतव्य स्थानापशी पोहोचवतात. पण हे गुगल मॅप नक्की चालतं कसं हे जर जाणून घ्यायचं असेल तर जीपीएस किंवा उपग्रहाद्वारे स्थान सूचना प्रणाली (GPS and GIS ) हे तंत्रज्ञान जाणून घेणे आवश्यक आहे. पृथ्वीभोवती फिरणाऱ्या अनेक उपग्रहांच्या माध्यमातून आपल्या फोनवरील जीपीएस ची चीप आपल्या फोनचा अचूक वेध घेऊन आपण नक्की कुठे आहोत हे या मॅप्स वरती दाखवू शकते . ही प्रणाली चालवणारे उपग्रह ,त्यामागचे अनेक प्रकार तसेच उपग्रहाद्वारे चालणाऱ्या/ प्रक्षेपित होणाऱ्या कार्यक्रमांचा या भागात उल्लेख केलेला आहे. गुगल अर्थ द्वारे पृथ्वीच्या कानाकोपऱ्यातील माहिती आपल्याला उपग्रहाद्वारे घेतलेल्या चित्रांद्वारे आपल्या घरबसल्या मिळू शकते . काही महिन्यापूर्वी तुर्की मध्ये झालेल्या भूकंपात जी हानी झाली त्या भागाची काही वर्षांपूर्वीची आणि आत्ताची चित्रे यांचा संदर्भ लावण्याकरता गुगल अर्थ चा वापर झाला होता.

*इंटरनेट ऑफ थिंग्स ( IoT) *- हा भाग खूपच लक्षवेधी आहे .फक्त कम्प्युटर्स आणि मोबाईल फोन्स नव्हे तर अनेक यंत्रे आणि गोष्टी आता इंटरनेट बरोबर संलग्न होऊ लागल्या आहेत. याचाच परिणाम म्हणजे *इंटरनेट ऑफ थिंग्स*. छोट्या छोट्या गोष्टीतून तयार होणारे सिग्नल्स किंवा संकेत, इंटरनेट वरती माहिती म्हणून वापरता येऊ लागले आणि या छोट्या सेन्सर्सनी आपल्या भोवतीचं जगच बदलून टाकलं. खुल जा सिम सिम हे फक्त गोष्टीतील वाक्य नसून आता अशा परवलीच्या शब्दाने आपण आपल्या घरातील किंवा कार्यालयातील अनेक गोष्टी फक्त शब्द किंवा आपल्या हालचालीतून घडवून आणू शकतो . हे सगळे सेन्सर्स आणि इंटरनेट ऑफ थिंग्स या प्रणालीमुळे शक्य झाले आहे . स्मार्ट होम, स्मार्ट कार, स्मार्ट फॅक्टरी अशा अनेक उदाहरणांमधून IoT आणि बिग डेटा यांचा एक संयुक्त उपयोग आपल्याला बघायला मिळत. आहे . टेस्ला कंपनीची स्वतःहून चालणारी कार हे या सेंसर आणि IoT प्रणालीचे एक सर्वोच्च उदाहरण ठरेल.

आपल्या रोजच्या आयुष्यात गाडीला लावलेले आर एफ आय डी टॅग आणि त्याचा सेन्सर द्वारे वापर करून आपल्याकडून वसूल केला जाणारा टोल या प्रणालीचे अजून एक उदाहरण आहे. जनावरांना आर एफ आय डी टॅग लावून त्यांची समस्त माहिती इंटरनेट द्वारे गोळा करून त्याचा वापर पशुसंवर्धनाकरता होणे हे अजून एक उदाहरण ठरेल. महाराष्ट्रातील प्रसिद्ध चितळे डेअरीने हे तंत्रज्ञान आणि Cows to Cloud हा उपक्रम गेली काही वर्षे उत्तम चालवला आहे .

या क्षेत्रातील उदाहरणे वाचली की आपल्याला थक्क व्हायला होतं. सेंसर आणि IoT यांचा वापर दिवसेंदिवस वाढत जाणार आहे.

येत्या काही वर्षात इंटरनेट ऑफ थिंग्स आणि इंडस्ट्रियल इंटरनेट ऑफ थिंग्स अतिशय मोठ्या प्रमाणामध्ये डेटा निर्मिती करणार आहेत आणि या डेटाचा अभ्यास करण्याकरता अतिशय खास व्यवसायिकांची गरज भासणार आहे. अशा व्यावसायिकांना डेटा सायंटिस्ट असेही म्हटले जाईल.

*ब्लॉक चेन*.  -  क्रिप्टो करन्सी सध्या खूप वादादित असलेला शब्द आहे .क्रिप्टो करेंसी ज्या तंत्रज्ञानामुळे विकसित झाली ते तंत्रज्ञान म्हणजे ब्लॉक चेन. अकाउंटिंग च्या भाषेत सेंट्रलाइज लेजर ठेवण्यापेक्षा जर लेजर हे अनेक संगणकावरती ठेवलं गेलं  आणि प्रत्येक एन्ट्री मध्ये होणारे बदल हे या सर्व संगणकावरती जर एकत्रितपणे होत गेले तर डेटा मध्ये होणारे बदल आणि त्यातून होणारे गैरवापर ( फ्रॉड )हे रोखले जाऊ शकतील ही या ब्लॉक चेन मागची संकल्पना.  *ब्लॉक चेन*चा वापर शिक्षण ,उत्पादन, वितरण ,सरकारी कामकाज आणि डॉक्युमेंट्स या सगळ्या क्षेत्रामध्ये होऊ शकतो .

ब्लॉकचेन हा प्रकार खऱ्या अर्थाने आपल्याला कळला तो बिटकॉइन या क्रिप्टो करन्सीच्या वापरातून. 2008 पासून याची सुरुवात झाली. कुठल्याही देशाची अधिकृत करन्सी नसलेली बिटकॉइन आणि त्यासारख्या अनेक वर्चुअल करन्सी आज एक गुंतवणूक म्हणून बरेच लोक वापरतात. सुरुवातीला कवडी मोलाचे असलेले बिटकॉइन मागच्या वर्षी 16000  डॉलर या भावापर्यंत पोचले होते. अर्थातच यामध्ये गुंतवणूक करणे  खूप जोखमीचे आहे आणि आता भारत सरकारने याच्यावरती नियंत्रण ठेवण्याकरताही पावले उचललेली आहेत.

याचबरोबर थ्रीडी प्रिंटिंग ,क्लाऊड कम्प्युटिंग आणि ए आर / व्ही आर या तंत्रज्ञानाची माहिती थोडक्यात करून देण्यात आली आहे. या महिन्यात सुरू झालेली इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग बघण्याकरता जिओ कंपनीने AR ( Augmented Reality) चे हेडसेट द्यायला सुरुवात केली आहे. त्यामुळे क्रिकेटची मॅच आपण जणूकाही स्टेडियम मध्ये बसून बघितल्याचा अनुभव येतो. 

मोबाईल आणि इंटरनेट हे आता सर्वसामान्य माणसांच्या हातातील तंत्रज्ञान असले तरी मोबाईल नेटवर्क आणि इंटरनेटचे महाजाळे नक्की कसे चालते आणि त्यांच्या संदर्भात कोणत्या तांत्रिक गोष्टी येतात हा इतिहास ही त्या पुस्तकात आपल्याला वाचायला मिळतो.

इन्फोटेक विषयाची व्याप्ती खूप आहे. अनेक संकल्पना त्यात आहेत. प्रत्येक संकल्पना विस्तृत माहिती करून देणे या परिचयात शक्य नसले तरी इन्फोटेक या पुस्तकात मात्र या विषयांवर अतिशय सखोल चर्चा केली आहे .आपल्या आवडीप्रमाणे आपण तो भाग अवश्य वाचा. आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजन्स या विषयावर सुद्धा अच्युत गोडबोले यांचा वेगळा ग्रंथ उपलब्ध आहे तोही अवश्य वाचावा.

इन्फोटेकची ही प्रगती एवढ्यात थांबणारी नाही, यानंतरही काही नवीन कल्पना आपल्यासमोर येत राहणार आहेत  जशा - मेटा व्हर्स , एन एफ टी ( Non Fungible Tokens), Chat GPT , वेब ३.० . इन्फोटेक चे पुढचे युग ,आपलं राहणीमान आणि काम करायची क्षमता नक्कीच वाढवणार आहेत.

टेक्नॉलॉजी मधलं मला काही कळत नाही असं म्हणणारे बरेच लोक असतात पण अशा पुस्तकातून इन्फोटेक च्या संकल्पनांची माहिती करून घेणे आणि त्याचा आपल्या जीवनात कसा वापर होतो हे जाणून घेणे खूप रंजक आहे. इन्फोटेकच्या जाळ्यात स्वतःला हरवून न देता त्यातून योग्य गोष्टींची माहिती करून सही सलामत बाहेर पडण्याकरता हे पुस्तक वाचणे अतिशय आवश्यक आहे.
